I am passionate about research work, teaching and consultancy service in education, training and research. Since 1998, served in the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, a specialized agency of the League of Arab States engaged in education, training, research work, community service and projects, and was elected by Arab Countries’ members as Academy President in 2007. Amongst many pivotal accomplishments was the provision of oversight and guidance for the planning, execution and management of a four–phased project for building the largest Integrated Simulators Complex in the Middle East, with a budget amounting to 165 US million dollars contributed by the USA Government. The overall project objective is the acquisition and transfer of latest technologies to various transport sectors which includes simulators, laboratories and centers for the management of various marine and environmental disasters, in addition to ship simulators, liquefied natural gas and petroleum. In 1999, granted the "SEATRADE AWARD" of Innovation category in recognition of a successful development of a unique maritime expert system for collision avoidance at sea. Selected as member in both the Consultative Group and the Results Management Council of the Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery of the World Bank and the Scientific and Technical Committee of the United Nations International Strategy for Disaster Reduction. In 2010, directed the Academy to sign the Magna Charta Universitatum as a leading step to join a great host of a worldwide community of more than 700 universities sharing the same ideals and principles – as proposed by the University of Bologna in 1986 - even though many of these universities are operating in different countries and various circumstances.
